Healthy Bread in Five Minutes a Day!
Guess who is here to visit us today? Healthy Gal!!! YAY!! For those of you who have been reading my blog for a while, you already know that staying fit and healthy is one of my lifetime goals. It makes me feel better, have more energy to keep up with my kids, and in turn gives me self confidence!
When I talk to some of my friends about “eating healthy” or “going on a diet” they seem to think that means you can’t have any carbs! First, I want to say that I believe that everyone is on a ”diet” because a diet is just the way you eat. It’s up to you if you choose to have a healthy diet or not. Now, about the carbs. If you look at our food pyramid (you know…the one we all learned about in health class in school) it includes carbs, right? I also learned through Weight Watchers that it is important to eat healthy carbs as a part of a healthy balanced diet. So what are healthy carbs? They are unrefined foods like whole wheat pasta, brown rice, oats, and wholegrain bread! I LOVE BREAD!! Since I love bread so much and it was so expensive to buy wholegrain or whole weat bread in the grocery stores….I set out on a mission to find a more frugal way of getting this healthy bread that didn’t take a long time to make. While looking around on YouTube one day I saw this video on Healthy Bread in Five Minutes a Day!
I absolutely LOVE the recipes and seriously, they are super easy! Literally, you just toss the ingredients into a plastic container, mix quickly, and pop a lid on and in a few hours your dough is ready to bake.

That dough in my tub literally took me only 5 min. to prepare and two hours later my dough was ready. I pulled some of it out, shaped it and baked it! That’s it!! I ended up with this beautiful, warm, tasty and nutritious loaf of bread:

My kids love this bread and the way it makes the house smell and I love that it costs pennies per loaf to make and that my family is getting truly nutiritional bread that is a part of a healthy balanced diet! If you are looking for an inexpensive way to bring healthy breads, rolls, and muffins to your family’s table I highly recommend this book! There are recipes for whole grains, vegan, gluten-free, and even recipes that help reduce cholesterol.
There you have it! Healthy Gal’s frugalicious healthy tip….stay tuned next week when we will talk about how to use a recipe in this book to make low fat, whole wheat pizzas that the whole family will enjoy!
Amazon has the hard cover book Healthy Bread in Five Minutes a Day on sale for $18.47 right now. (That’s 34% OFF!), but this book will SAVE you tons on bread!!
