Graduation Party Ideas that SAVE Money!

With graduation just around the corner, I wanted to share with you a few ideas I ran across that might help you save on your own party this year! There is no doubt that making things yourself will save you money because the labor is free. Don’t be afraid to try new things, sometimes going outside your comfort zone allows you to discover a new passion!

Here are a few things you can make yourself for your graduation party!

Graduation Fruit Roll-Up Diplomas!

These super cute, very simple fruit roll-up graduation diploma idea from Paging Supermom would look very nice on any graduation party desert table! They even have a FREE Printable Graduation Sign and tray liner you can use to accent these sweet treats!

Graduation Hat Candy Pops!

These graduation hat candy pops idea from Bakerella are simple to make and would look great as a centerpiece for your tables! You could even throw some clear wrappers over them with a ribbon bow and give them to your guests as a thank you for coming to your party. You could even put them on top of a cupcake and they would be just as cute. Made of Reeses Peanut Butter Cups, chocolate squares and licorice, they are sure to be a hit!

Good Luck Graduation Notes Jar!

This good luck graduation notes jar idea from Celebrations is so thoughtful and a good way to let the grad know how proud everyone is! With parties being so busy, everyone doesn’t always get a chance to tell the grad how proud they are, this is a sure way to make that happen. The large mason jar was found at Target and you can print a FREE printable good luck graduation sign and a FREE printable graduation note cards.

Graduation Water Bottles!

With these FREE graduation water bottle labels from Catch My Party, you can spruce up the drink table with a minimal amount of money while making the grad feel special. I have also seen people use the different color duct tape on water bottles with hand-written notes with a sharpie.

Graduation Gift Idea!

This is a super cute and very frugal graduation gift idea from The Letter 4. All you have to do is buy a 4 or 6-pack of drinks and cut out black squares with some yarn and hot glue it to the tops of the bottles! Wa, la…you’re done!

I always try to come up with creative gifts for my kiddos teachers for the holidays. This year for Easter, I was shopping at the $.99 Only Store and found these bunny ears, so I picked up several to make a gift with them. When it came time to make something with them, I went to Walmart and decided to make Easter Bunny Candles. Their candles are only $5.00 and I was able to get all the other supplies I needed there too. These were very easy to make and my kiddos had a blast helping me. The best part is when the candle is gone, they can use the jar as a candy dish, so it’s a gift that keeps on giving! I hope you have fun making these if you decide to give it a try.

Supplies: This supply list is for 1 bunny.

  • (1) Bunny Ears Headband (I got mine at the $.99 Only Store, but I have also seen them at Target and Michaels)
  • (1) White Candle (I got mine at Walmart for $5.00)
  • (2) Medium Black Buttons (for the eyes)
  • (1) Small Pearl Button (for the nose)
  • (1) 1″ Thick Ribbon (12 in. long)
  • (2) Colored Pipe Cleaners (for the whiskers)
  • (2) Large Cotton Balls
  • Glue Gun

Directions:

  • Cut the bunny ears off the headband and hot glue it to the top of the lid of the candle.

  • Hot glue the eyes and nose.
  • Cut each pipe cleaner into 1/3 pieces so that you have 6 pieces total. Twist the ends of three together and spread them apart to look like whiskers then hot glue them where the cheeks of the bunny would be.
  • Hot glue one large cotton ball on the top of each whisker set.
  • Tie a bow with your ribbon and hot glue that towards the bottom of the jar.

That’s it! These cost me about $7.50 each to make, which in my opinion is an inexpensive gift. The best part is, they are unique gifts and my kids and I made a new memory together making them and for me, that is what is MOST important. My kids were very proud to take them to their teachers!

*If you happen to make these, I would love to see yours! Send me a picture of how yours turned out. You can contact me through my Coupon Gal Email or through my Coupon Gal Facebook Page.
