About Fashion Gal

April 12, 2012

Welcome to my Fashion Gal series where I will show you that fashion doesn’t have to cost a fortune! If you are style-conscious and want to stretch your wardrobe dollars, you are in the right place! I will show you where to get the latest styles for the least amount of money, how to wear it and ultimately, keep you fashionably on-trend for less!

Let’s (OK…I’ll) admit it, fashion is just plain fun! A few years ago when I started living on a budget, I knew one thing for sure. I didn’t want to have to sacrifice looking cute (and that’s just plain honest). I didn’t want my kids not to look “cool” (that’s just not an option) and buying new clothes as fashions changed wasn’t an option. It was a must! I am constantly looking for deals on season, off season, one year ahead…(yes, I actually just said 1-year ahead!) I do that! I go crazy with this fashion stuff!

My friends call me the “F” word. Haha…that could be totally be taken the wrong way, huh? I’m referring to the word, “Fashionista.” I like to call myself a “Frugal Fashionista.” If you saw me at the gym, in the mall, at the park, or grocery store, you might think I spend a ton on clothes, but I promise you…I DO NOT! I can NOT, therefore I will NOT!

Somewhere between working at Wet Seal (my first job at 16) and my dad constantly drilling it in my head to “live within your means” (which by the way, who the heck even knows what that means at 16? I sure didn’t know. But it sounded like a smart word and I knew I wanted to be smart and make my parents proud, so I preached I would….well you know…”live within my means”) I learned how to take pleasure in my guilty pleasure without really having to feel guilty.

From week to week, I will talk about different topics and share with you what I do, where I go and when I buy things to save money on fashion. I hope you enjoy this series and that it helps you achieve your fashion goals on a BUDGET!

Thank you Jaycie ;)

I am looking forward to sharing what I do and hoping it helps everyone out. It feels good to feel good in your own clothes. LOL!
