What is a Catalina Coupon?

A Catalina is a coupon that prints out at the cash register from a machine (like the one you see pictured above) because you have purchased things that are included in a promotion that either the store or manufacturer is offering on a particular item.

Here are some facts you may need to know about Catalina Coupons:

  • Catalina coupons are generally manufacturer coupons.
  • Catalina coupons most often can only be redeemed at the store you received them at. Although there are some stores that accept competitors coupons and will take them, so that is something you need to ask your individual store.
  • Usually you can use a Catalina coupon towards anything on your next purchase, but sometimes a Catalina will specifically state it is for a particular product only.
  • Catalina coupons have an expiration date like any other regular coupon, so don’t forget to redeem it.

What if your Catalina coupon did not print?

Hi Shanya,

Yes I live in Southern California so most of my deals are relevant to your area. Prices may differ slightly, but for the most part they are the same.

Welcome and I’m happy to have you as a new reader!

Although I live in the pacific northwest, and think you have a super website I wanted to know if your website offers couponing in the sandiego area.

Well Hello Kimberleigh!

First, I am honored that the clerk at Walgreens referred you to my site! That puts a HUGE smile on my face! I understand where you are coming from with the passing a deal idea. My rule of thumb, is if I already have a stock pile of the item in question and I don’t really need it, I will only buy it if it is FREE or nearly FREE.

For example, if I have 6 bottles of shampoo, but I can get Pantene for FREE or for like $.50 a bottle, I would get it! That’s hard to pass up and sometimes when I get low I can’t find a deal.

I hope this helps! I’m glad to have you as a reader!

Hi, i live in orangecrest and was referred to your site by a customer service clerk at my local walgreens here when she noticed the great deals i received using coupons. I have a question. How do i know when to pass on an item? sometimes i have a coupon and i think its a good deal but i don’t necessarily need the item at the moment, but because i have a coupon i buy it adding to my expense which sort of defeats the purpose of managing my money. Can you offer any suggestions… many thanks

Thanks for the Catalina deals, but my questions is how do you know what items give Catalina Coupons? I only get them when you suggest, but have heard they are available all the time. Thanks for all your great post. I am actually headed back to Albertson’s today to get more fruit snacks!
