So i'm not sure if you can help. but i was wondering if you know anything. i forgot my coupons the other day went into the store the next day to redeem them from that receipt, and they said they don't take coupons after the date listed on the receipt, it has to be done the same day as the transaction. Is there any possible way you know the answer, i called corporate to see what they said and they didn't have a clue : /.

Last night, I had a problem with my Target store regarding coupons which were over the value of the item. I have never had trouble in this store, but last night was a real treat. Both the cashier and the shift manager acted like I was trying to steal something. I tried to explain that all they had to do was adjust the amount of the coupon (which clearly stated "any size") to the cost of the item, but they refused and said they couldn't do that, and had never done that. Okay, whatever. They also had a problem with me using Target coupons. They finally did accept those, but refused the others. I had them remove the items and give me my coupons back. They really didn't want to give me my un-used coupons, by the way. What did they think – that they could just refuse my coupons and then keep them anyway?!? I didn't know about calling customer service right from the store, and it was VERY late anyway. I just sent them an e-mail, though, so we'll see what that does. Thanks for all the great info!!

Thanks Christy for the great advice.

I called Corporate today because I was very worried about the poor nice cashier getting in trouble. This is what Corporate told me. They leave it to the store's manager to make the final decision as the managers are Corporate's eyes and ears. However, they would advise that the store first scan the coupon and if the coupon looks legit and scans without a problem, it should be accepted. However, if it is not printed clearly or looks like a hoax or doesn't scan properly, then they do have the right to reject it. Also, if for any reason the store rejects the coupon, like you stated, Corporate also advised calling them at the store so there could be a quicker resolution with all parties involved.

At this time, Corporate has assured me the cashier will not be in trouble and also complimented as the cashier had handled the situation correctly. And also Corporate will speak with the manager involved in this incident to explain regarding the Internet MF coupons issue. Corporate was very nice.

Also, I had encountered an issue where the new Target computer system tries to categorize your purchases (Beauty, Electronics, etc.) and I was told that even if the coupon was listed in the wrong category, that should not affect the coupon's validity OR affect any future price adjustment issues with a product going on sale for a lower price than what was paid at the time.
The new system is a test trial and Corporate would appreciate feedback on the new category receipts.

Hope this information is helpful! Have a wonderful day yourself :)

Dear Reader,
Target's coupon policy according to corporate is to accept ALL internet printable coupons that scan. There are no exceptions, and each store manager can not decide weather or not they want to accept them.

Your best bet so that you don't have future problems, is the next time you go to that Target, ask for the manager that told you that you can not use internet printable coupons. Call guest relations right from the store and ask to speak to a guest relations manager. Explain to the guest relations manager that the store manager is telling you that they can not accept internet coupons and they will speak to that store manager. All things will be cleared up and hopefully you will NEVER have a problem at that store again.

Guest relations told me it is more effective to call directly from the store when there is a problem, so that all parties involved have come to a resolution.

I would carry the guest relations phone number with you just in case they tell you there is no number.

Sorry you are having so much trouble. It's really a shame that we have to go through all this when these rules are clearly Target's corporate policy.

Have a wonderful day!

Christy
Cents to Save for Moms!

Thanks for the great info! I was at a Target store today and was told by one of the managers in Guest Relations that they do not take Internet MF coupons! Is that a new policy I have not heard of or was he mistaken? Or is this at the discretion of the manager of the store? He took down the cashier's # who had originally accepted my Internet MF and would be 'speaking with him.' I do not wish the cashier to get in trouble and want to make sure what is the current
policy before calling Corporate. I don't want that cashier to get in anymore trouble if I call Corporate and they agree with the manager. Or perhaps is the manager misinformed? Thanks everyone for your help in advance! I really wish they would not make us feel like criminals for using coupons released by the MF themselves :(

Thank you for your questions! I contacted Target Guest Relations regarding the Target coupons and this is what they said:

The Target coupons found on their website are good for the product specified. If the coupon does not state the size (ie.: ounces, quantity, or type) you can purchase any size or variety regardless of what the picture is. Guest Relationsn said they put a picture to give you an idea of what you can purchase with the coupon.

As far as the manufacturer coupons, you can stack one Manufacturer coupon with one Target coupon for each item you are purchasing.

There is no limit of manufacturer coupons in one transaction, just one per item you are purchasing!

I have added these changes to my post. I hope this helps clarify any other questions.

Christy

Thank you so much for posting this. Just today I had a problem with coupons at Target. I was so upset that I told them forget it and took back my coupons and walked out the door.....Its not easy to keep a 19 month old entertained while this is happening. I called the guest service and she told me that they can key in the code if the coupon dose not scan. They are also sending me some $3 target coupons because this happened and they were very very nice about it.

What an informative post. You mentioned the problem of only being able to use one like MF coupon but what is the policy for it (as I've been told yhis too)?

Also the other day I was told when using a Target coupon it had to be on the item pictured. Do you know what thier policy is on that?

Thanks, again!

I've had problems w/ Taget coupons before, too.
I was trying to use one of their own printable internet coupons for "Bliss chocolates" and it did not specify which products, though it did have a picture of only one product, but they would not let me use it for the one I wanted to buy, saying it was not what the coupon was for...do you know if I should have been able to use that coupon, since it didn't specify a certain product anywhere on the coupon??? I was just wondering about that.

This is really helpful, though. It's good to know their actual policy, so that you'll know whether the store is wrong or not. thanks!!!!
